Senior Advocate Services — Making a Difference
Senior Advocate Services
- Making a Difference -
When it comes to aging, there’s no manual — just a series of complex, emotional decisions that can overwhelm even the most capable and educated families. Senior Advocate Services was founded to change that.
We are not a placement service or a large agency. We are a boutique elder care consulting firm built on one simple belief: families deserve clarity, continuity, and compassion when navigating care for an aging parent.
What began as a personal mission for our founder, Art Mulligan III, has grown into a trusted resource for families across Connecticut and beyond. Joined by Sara Lynn Leavenworth, MSW, our team brings decades of combined experience in senior care, a trusted referral network of highly respected individuals, teams and companies, and client advocacy.
Every family we work with receives the same thing — focused attention, experienced guidance, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing someone is looking out for what matters most.

Sara Lynn Leavenworth, MSW, CDP
Chief Operating Officer
Sara Lynn became personally knowledgeable of the challenges our elderly population and their families face when her father had a stroke in 2018. She and her sister were faced with the stress and uncertainty of how to navigate hospitals, insurance, and later Hospice. Soon thereafter, she needed assistance finding an assisted living/memory care community for her mother to live. She came to understand how invaluable an advocate could be and is now passionate about providing these services to others.
Sara Lynn holds a bachelor’s degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Connecticut. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and sits on various local non-profit boards.
Sara Lynn and Art were lifesavers as we were managing our parents move to a CCRC. Their advice and recommendations were both thoughtful and practical.
They answered our many questions patiently, and most importantly, they made our parents feel taken care of during the transition from their home of 32 years.
We are so grateful for their services and support.

Our Approach
Guiding families through the hard moments with clarity, calm, and compassion
At the heart of our work is the belief that aging should be approached with dignity, not urgency. We understand the emotional weight adult children carry when they’re navigating complex decisions on behalf of their parents. Our job is to remove the feeling of overwhelm and replace it with clarity, empathy, and action.
We listen before we advise. We advocate without ego. And we never forget that behind every care plan is a real family trying to do the right thing.
Whether you're just beginning to notice a shift in your parents' needs or you're facing an urgent transition, we meet you where you are — and help you move forward with purpose.
Our Mission
Our mission at Senior Advocate Services is to help you and your loved ones navigate the art of aging gracefully and with dignity. Most senior adults in our country need assistance understanding their options as they face late-life transitions, but many are unsure of where to turn. Information is plentiful, but often confusing and not easily attainable. Some are fortunate to have family members assist, but often those family members live in a different state, or they have time constraints due to busy schedules.
Independence. Safety. Happiness.
